Beltway Fine Wine

Beltway Fine Wine, aptly named because it is about 500 feet from the Baltimore Beltway, is easy to miss. It’s nestled under an Ethan Allen Furniture store and the big front signage is actually pointed away from the highway.

Once inside, though, it’s all business. Beltway Fine Wines has one of the best selections in the region with entire aisles dedicated to different regions. The selection is so comprehensive, the only complaint I could muster (were I pressed for one) is that the Northern Rhone selection is sparse.

But this isn’t a store for complaining, it’s a store to pick up some good values, then ogle at the luxury wines. All sorts of glorious wines are on display in a temperature controlled case. A five year vertical of Latour and Margaux. 2003 Lafite and 2003 Latour clocking in at over $1,000 per bottle. California Cult Cabs alongside some serious Grand Cru trophies. It’s a nice place to stare.

Once you’ve pulled out of that tractor beam, check out the wide selection of beers or the wall of Whiskey and Scotch. I’m not a spirits guy, but there was a lot of it so I’m sure whatever you’re looking for is there. If your party goers aren’t into wine, you can pick up cases or kegs of good ol’ cold beer (Vinotrip special: $59 for a ½ keg of PBR)

They conduct tastings on Saturdays but I forgot to pick up details. Otherwise, Beltway Wine Wines is a fabulous shop and a must visit for Baltimore wine lovers.
