Two New Wineries Opening and MD Wine Festival Needs Volunteers
The Evening Sun put out a terse item today about the Maryland Wine Festival. The Festival is looking for volunteers to run ticketing, glass handouts, etc… Take it from someone who has done it before, volunteering at one of these things is a good way to go. You provide some much needed help, and when your shift is done you’re in the festival for free.

That can’t be the same Evening Sun that went out in Baltimore about 20 years ago, can it? Are they back?
Two new tasting rooms are coming up in Maryland this month. Maryland Wine reports:
Congratulations to Black Ankle Vineyards in Mt. Airy and Running Hare Vineyard in Prince Frederick—both are opening their doors for tours, tastings and sales in August.
Both wineries have their first bottling out this year. Running Hare is all whites all the time until their Malbec is released in 2009. Blank Ankle has a full docket of wines ready to with with price tags running from $26 to $40. All the whites clock in over $30. Napa, here we come!
