Maryland Wine News and Notes

The Wine Source, a fine wine shop in Hamden, has been granted a seven day alcohol license meaning they can sling beer and wine on Sundays. Go forth and drink.

Staying in Hamden, a new wine bar called 13.5% opened up and is doing well. More wine bars are always welcome. Since Virginia is deprived, maybe you can swing up and borrow some of ours?

So says The Sun:

There are more than 30 wines offered by the glass, most in the $6 to $12 range. If you order one of the more than 200 bottles, you pay $8 over retail, which should encourage people to try better wines.

Sam Sessa of Midnight Sun visited 13.5% and thinks it is a hit.

Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc is on sale for $10.97 through August 2nd at Corridor Wine & Spirits in Laurel, MD. Summer wine, patio white, QPR, yadda yadda yadda. Go and buy some.

Baltimore Magazine’s Best of Baltimore is out, and it’s kind of a big deal. Midnight Sun won best blog, but fellow Wine (and frequently beer) bloggers over at foodandwineblog.com took home third place. Nice job to Michael et al. In the world of wine blogs, I humbly remain at number fifty-six.
