May I produdly present my tasting note for the Solomons Cab Reserve, easily one the of the strongest Maryland reds that I’ve had.

Deep ruby color that got darker and more purple as the night went on. Very light nose. Herd to get much of anything from it. Herbal if anything, some floral too. On the palette it is spicy up front, sour cherry taste and pucker on the pack. Little tobacco-ish finish. Overall a very nice, middleweight Cabernet. Not a very complex wine. Maybe… maybe could stand to lay around in the bottle for a few years.

Translucent dark ruby red color. Big nose of smokey oak and currant. Dominating flavors but sort-of a middleweight feel compared to a Napa Cabernet. As the wine opened up, some nutty and coffee flavors came out. My style of wine is a little kinder and gentler, but if you’re into big Cabs with a touch of finesse that hail from outside of Napa Valley, this would be a good one to try.
