The Provence Wine Trail
Explore the Provençal Wine Trail
Imagine yourself beneath the radiant sun of the south of France, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, at the base of the vines, with a glass of rosé or red wine in your hand: welcome to the Provençal Wine Trail!
This journey through Provence has a taste for travel, as you follow in the footsteps of Marcel Pagnol through picture-postcard landscapes. Wine tourism in Provence provides the taste wines from the Côtes-de-Provence and Provence appellations, both of which are known for the rich fruitiness of their rosés and their startling red wines that go wonderfully well with traditional Provençal dishes.
You can also take time to visit the picturesque villages that are perched on the Mediterranean coast and the picturesque farmhouses with their pink-tiled roofs.
Geography of the Provençal Wine Trail
The Provençal Wine Trail makes its way through the vineyards of the Mediterranean coastline between Nice and the Rhone Delta over a distance of nearly 200 kilometres from east to west. With its northern and eastern edges defined by the Alps, it extends through the administrative districts of Var (83), Bouches-du-Rhône (13) and part of the Vaucluse (84).
