About Château Montana
Château Montana is located in southern Roussillon, near Perpignan, between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains.
The estate, founded in the 19th century, is now run by Jean Jonquères d’Oriola, whose family has been rooted in the Pyrénées-Orientales for more than five centuries. Together with his family, he works to reveal the finesse, power and character of this distinctive terroir.
Château Montana produces white, rosé and red wines, as well as the naturally sweet wines for which Roussillon is famous. Alongside its winegrowing activity, the estate welcomes visitors for tours and tastings, and also offers event spaces and holiday cottages with a swimming pool for stays with family or friends.

The wines
The vineyard is planted with grape varieties carefully adapted to the local terroirs, allowing the estate to produce both quality regional wines and appellation wines. In the modern cellars, built between 2003 and 2005, tradition and innovation come together. The team applies the same high standards to vineyard management, environmental care, winemaking and ageing.
Among the estate’s cuvées, Silencio is a red AOC Côtes du Roussillon made from Syrah, Carignan and Grenache Noir grown on clay-limestone soils. It offers a deep colour, a complex nose and flavours of red fruit with subtle vanilla notes.
L’Astre Blanc is a white Côtes Catalanes wine that showcases Grenache, a classic Mediterranean grape variety. Made mainly from old-vine Grenache Blanc, with a touch of Grenache Gris, it is a balanced, rounded and mineral white wine. -
Wine tourism at Château Montana
As part of the estate’s development, the owners have created a range of wine tourism experiences. Throughout the year, visitors can enjoy guided tours of the winemaking and ageing cellars, as well as introductory or more advanced tasting sessions.
On request, the estate can also organise a buffet or seated meal, either in the park or in the cellars depending on the season. The surrounding area is also rich in walking and hiking routes, as well as chapels, churches and historic monuments linked to the region’s past between France and Spain.
