Sancerre wine tour

everything was perfect. The visits to the cellars and the goat farm were very interesting, the estate and our room magnificent, and the evening restaurant delicious. The Sunday morning breakfast was just sublime and very copious: the yoghurts and jams were home-made. We loved it all.

Stay as described. Good timing & choice of locations. Highly commendable for the Prieuré gîte.
- Visit to the Eric Louis winery: very nice presentation with lots of details and full tasting.
- Chèvrerie de la Tour: nice & informative.
- Bistrot de la Côte des Monts Damnés: Good and to the point. A bit sad on Sunday evening as we were alone.
- Overnight at the magnificent Prieuré Saint-Agnan: we slept superbly. Very good breakfast and welcome. On the banks of the Loire, ideal for a jog or walk.
- Cave d'Henri Bourgeois: without a visit to the cellar, we were treated to a royal tasting!

We extended our stay with a second night at Le Prieuré, a visit to the Maison des Sancerre (fun, informative and the store is full of treasures) and two other winemakers (Alphonse Mellot in Sancerre & Pierre Prieur in Verdigny) with two extra-ordinary tastings!

We had an excellent stay. The welcome at Prieuré Saint Agnan was perfect. A romantic and peaceful setting, a copious breakfast with a variety of quality home-made products.
We met a number of wine enthusiasts during our visits and tastings, as well as on our walks.
We discovered the Sancerre region and its landscapes, made magical by the snow and sunshine.

We had a superb time discovering the wines of Sancerre and its neighbors. Visits to the estates and the farm were exotic and highly instructive.
Le Prieuré is a true haven of peace, in a magnificent setting with a direct view of the garden and the Loire.
The only downside to this stay was the location of the Saturday evening restaurant. It's a shame to have to drive there, because after the tastings in the afternoon, during which we had to restrict ourselves, all we wanted to do was fully appreciate the wine list.

The only difficulty is that the activities are very close together and some of them vary in length (e.g. gourmet restaurant, 2h15), which can cause delays in the rest of the program.

The stay was very pleasant and interesting.
As mentioned in a previous comment, the program is not necessarily as described. As much as the first day was exactly as described, the second was not: we had lunch at the gourmet restaurant at noon, then tasted the wines of a domaine in the afternoon. But I suppose that depends on the availability of the various estates, which I can understand.

Vinotrip beware of the time lapse between activities, we had two hours for lunch on Sunday before heading to the wine tasting venue, and it was only fair we should have had half an hour more.

Both restaurants were excellent, the visit to the first estate extremely interesting, and we received a very warm welcome at the prieuré Saint-Agnan, which is a very beautiful place.

A very pleasant stay, but beware: the services don't quite live up to the description (we didn't visit Domaine Vacheron and therefore didn't taste any biodynamic wines).
We received an excellent welcome from all the service providers, with a special mention for the hosts of the Prieuré Saint Agnan: a charming place that I highly recommend.
The restaurant is also very friendly, with an original market menu and an exceptional wine list.
