A beautiful day
At Domaine de la Madone, our first stop was a highly instructive one, and the tasting took place in optimal conditions. Well received and well guided, we would perhaps have liked to have had someone closer to the work of the vine and the making of the wines. A very warm welcome at the restaurant, with an impeccable menu and superb panoramic views over the vineyards. Note that the nearby Chapelle de la Madone can be reached on foot from the restaurant in about ten minutes... a must.
Château des Bachelards was the highlight of the day, with its AB and Demeter wines - a little expensive for our budget, alas. The guided tour of the grounds and cellars was the most exciting and instructive part of the day.
At Steeve Charvet's, Orane made us feel very welcome, and we learned a lot, especially about how to taste these excellent vintages.
This discovery of the Beaujolais vineyards will remain a beautiful memory: a superb gift!
