Discover Domaine de la Croix du Verre
Domaine de la Croix du Verre is located in the Drôme, in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation area, in the village of Larnage.
Owners Maryline and Olivier welcome guests to a characterful 17th-century house built from Rhône river stones. Founded in 1987, this family wine estate offers the perfect setting to discover Crozes-Hermitage wines and enjoy a peaceful stay in the vineyards.
The estate’s name comes from a small cross located at a crossroads among the vines. According to local legend, winegrowers would leave a glass and a bottle of wine there to refresh passing pilgrims.

Rooms at the estate
The estate offers two charming 25 m² guest rooms, decorated in a cosy country style and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Located on the first floor of the house, the rooms are named after the two grape varieties used in the estate’s wines: Syrah and Marsanne.
Guests also have access to a lounge on the ground floor, with armchairs, a sofa, a library and board games. In cooler weather, the owners are happy to light the fireplace, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere. -
The wines
Set at an altitude of 200 metres, Domaine de la Croix du Verre covers 9 hectares of vines. Most of the vineyard is planted on hillside plots, with granite-based soils. The parcels are small and fragmented, allowing much of the vineyard work, including harvesting, to be carried out by hand.
Since its creation, the estate has produced wines from the northern Rhône. The red wines are made entirely from Syrah, giving them an intense colour, aromas of black and red fruit such as blackcurrant and raspberry, and spicy notes. The white wines are made from Marsanne, known for its aromatic qualities, with notes of white fruit and delicate floral hints such as hawthorn and acacia. -
Visits and tastings at the estate
