Maison Brotte

Av. Saint-Pierre de Luxembourg, 84230 Châteauneuf-du-Pape

  • History of the Maison Brotte

Maison Brotte is a family business founded in 1931 in Châteauneuf-du-Pape by Mr. Charles Brotte, one of the pioneers of bottling wines from the Rhône Valley. Today, Laurent Brotte, grandson of the founder, runs the House, his wife and sons by his side.

Maison Brotte markets 2.6 million bottles a year under the Brotte and Père Anselme La Fiole signatures. Since 1952, La Fiole du Pape, developed under the Père Anselme brand, has been an original and exclusive bottle. It is today the most popular bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the world, which makes Maison Brotte the leader of its appellation.

In 1970, Maison Brotte inaugurated a Wine Museum, completely renovated in 2014. In 1991, the Maison acquired Château de Bord, a 32-hectare property on the A.O.C. Côtes du Rhône Villages Laudun and Côtes du Rhône. Domaine Barville, a 23-hectare vineyard on the A.O.C. Châteauneuf-du-Pape, as well as the Domaine Grosset, a 22-hectare vineyard on the A.O.C. Côtes du Rhône Villages Cairanne, are two properties which also belong to the Brotte family, transmitted by their ascendants.
