About Maison Brotte

Maison Brotte is a family-run wine house founded in 1931 in Châteauneuf-du-Pape by Charles Brotte, one of the pioneers of bottling Rhône Valley wines. Today, the house is run by Laurent Brotte, grandson of the founder, alongside his wife and sons.

Maison Brotte produces 2.6 million bottles each year under the Brotte and Père Anselme La Fiole labels. Created in 1952 under the Père Anselme brand, La Fiole du Pape is known for its distinctive, exclusive bottle shape and has become one of the most recognisable Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines in the world.

In 1970, Maison Brotte opened a Wine Museum, which was fully renovated in 2014. Over the years, the family has also developed several vineyard estates, including Château de Bord, a 32-hectare property in the Côtes du Rhône Villages Laudun and Côtes du Rhône appellations, Domaine Barville, a 23-hectare vineyard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Domaine Grosset, a 22-hectare estate in Cairanne.

  • Château Neuf du Pape

A wonderful discovery: the museum and tasting at "Maison Brotte," and a night at the Bastide de Caderousse—it’s a shame that renovations are underway. We were warmly welcomed, and the owner was very attentive.

  • A perfect weekend

An exceptional weekend organized by Vinotrip! Everything was perfectly orchestrated. We particularly enjoyed the fascinating tour of Maison Ogier, led by Glawdis, whose enthusiasm and knowledge made the experience truly enriching. The gourmet lunch on the terrace of Le Verger des Papes, with its splendid view of the Rhône Valley, was a memorable moment. Meeting Pierre-François, the passionate owner of Domaine de la Buissière, will also remain a wonderful memory thanks to his warm hospitality and generosity. We enjoyed a superb room in a former stable that had been charmingly renovated. Finally, the warm welcome and high-quality tasting at the Musée Brotte perfectly rounded out our stay. An experience we recommend without hesitation!

  • Good but can do better

Following water damage, we were rehoused in a bed and breakfast at the Bussières host's sister's house. It was very nice, a beautiful house and a charming host. As for the visits, they're more or less the same, between the Ogier house, which is more of a merchant, and the Brotte house. Both are interesting, but a visit to a winegrower and independent owner would seem more appropriate for French customers.

  • A Wonderful Weekend in Châteauneuf-du-Pape

A perfect weekend, just as described on your website... dining, lodging, and sightseeing? Breathtaking views at the restaurant Le Vergers des Papes, a culinary delight, and impeccable service. The Ogier tour was remarkable, with a warm welcome and a high-quality tasting. A bike ride through the vineyards where we discovered surprising views and a very well-designed route. Accommodations including dinner and breakfast at Maison Honorine, where we arrived in a little corner of paradise with a very warm and exceptional welcome; we were pampered and treated like royalty... a big thank you to you, Irène Marie We’ll be back for another stay soon—please don’t change a thing; everything is perfect! A wonderful visit to the Brotte Museum followed by a tasting of exceptional wines and a very warm welcome. The partners are truly exceptional and met 100% of the expectations set for the trip. Thank you all for the remarkable quality of service and hospitality. We highly recommend this getaway and would love to do it again

  • At the foot of Mont Ventoux

After a few hours’ drive from our home in Franche-Comté, we arrived in the quiet village of Caderousse, not far from Mont Ventoux, in the heart of the vineyards. We enjoyed a gift from our children (the first time we’d gone to Alsace—which was also full of wonderful discoveries!). First, we visited the Maison Brotte wine museum, tasted five wines, and left with a few bottles in the trunk before heading to our lodging, the magnificent bastide La Buissière—an elegant 18th-century residence, lovingly renovated by our host and tastefully decorated with respect for its history. An art lover, Pierre-François is also an accomplished cook and treated us to delicious dishes that we had the pleasure of enjoying outdoors. We shared the table with Christelle and Jean-Luc, from the Hautes-Pyrénées, and that’s precisely what makes a bed-and-breakfast so charming and full of surprises! This is a place we’ll treasure forever? Thank you, Pierre-François, for your hospitality, the stories, and the delicious food! And of course, thank you to our children for this wonderful gift!

  • Chateau Neuf Du Pape

Perfect, accommodation and restaurant were top notch. Superb bike ride through the vineyards and tasting at Domaine Ogier by Glawdys who explained the characteristics of their wine. The Brotte museum is also a must-see, with a highly qualified oenologist. A lovely weekend, and a special mention to Mr. Parat...

  • Perfect weekend

We spent an excellent weekend in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with vinotrip. Very interesting visit to the Ogier estate, with a young guide who was passionate about the subject and mastered it. Lunch at the verger des papes restaurant, where we were very well received and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We spent the night at the bastide de la Bussiere, where we were warmly welcomed by Pierre François, who treated us to a delicious dinner in his magnificent home. The next day, we visited the Maison Brotte and the wine museum, which was very interesting and included a tasting session. We recommend vinotrip and its service providers.

  • Very nice stay

Le verger des papes restaurant offered a magnificent view over the vineyards to the Rhone and excellent cuisine. The visit to the Ogier estate was fascinating, with a fine wine tasting at the end. We stayed at Domaine de la Bussières in Caderousse, a pretty village with a beautiful 18th-century mansion. Our host regaled us in the evening and shared his passion with us. Finally, the Brotte estate and a visit to its very interesting museum, with another fine tasting session. We finished the weekend with a visit to Orange instead of Avignon, which we knew well. In short, a perfect little stay that we'd recommend.

  • Excellent stay

Our meal at the verger des papes was excellent, with a magnificent view and very friendly restaurateurs. The visit to the Ogier estate was fascinating, thanks in large part to Jean, a passionate and competent guide who loves his work. Our overnight stay at Bastide La Buissière was perfect. A trip back in time, superb decoration, a very copious dinner and a beautiful project!!! Our host was a very pleasant person, available and passionate. The visit to the Brotte estate was also very interesting, followed by a wonderful wine tasting. A more than satisfying stay that I highly recommend.

  • VERY NICE STAY

The services offered are very good/. The LE VERGER DES PAPES restaurant at the foot of the château offers top-quality cuisine with a superb panorama. Visits to the OGIER and BROTTE estates are very welcoming, especially Jean, the wine merchant, whose passion for his work takes us into the vineyards. The wines we tasted were divine. At the LA BUISSIERE bastide bed and breakfast, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming person who takes you back to the 18th century, with the decoration of the room and the garden that makes you feel like you're there. The table d'hôtes is convivial, and we dined with a couple of friendly cyclists. The food is excellent. We recommend it!
