The wines of Domaine Brégeon
Domaine Brégeon covers 10 hectares of organically farmed vineyards. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts to preserve the character of each terroir and grape variety.
The estate works mainly with two white grape varieties: Melon de Bourgogne and Folle Blanche. The vines grow on the clay-rich gabbro soils of Gorges and the sandier granite soils of Clisson, two terroirs that bring distinct expression to the wines.
Melon de Bourgogne, originally from Burgundy, is now closely associated with the Loire-Atlantique region, where it is best known as the grape variety behind Muscadet.
Folle Blanche, native to western France, is known for its finesse and aromatic freshness. Historically used in the production of Cognac and Armagnac, it is also the traditional grape variety of Gros Plant du Pays Nantais.

A little history...
In 2011, Fred Lailler took over the estate from Michel Brégeon. Michel is one of the precursors of high-quality Muscadet and a leading promoter of Nantais Vineyard wines; one of those who always believed that this wine made from the Melon de Bourgogne grape variety could offer great wines. He produced deep and subtle wines, wines capable of competing blind with the best.
