Histoire de la Maison Taittinger
The Taittinger Champagne House traces its origins back to 1734, with the establishment of a wine trading house in Reims. Its modern history began in 1932, when Pierre Taittinger acquired Château de la Marquetterie and gave his name to the House. Remaining true to its family traditions, it is now recognised as one of Champagne’s leading houses, renowned for its expertise and the elegance of its cuvées. Today, it is led by Vitalie Taittinger, who continues to carry this legacy forward.

The Champagnes of the House
The Taittinger Champagne House owns one of the largest vineyards in Champagne, covering 288 hectares across 37 crus in the Côte des Blancs, the Vallée de la Marne and the Montagne de Reims. The vineyard consists of approximately 37% Chardonnay, 48% Pinot Noir and 15% Pinot Meunier, a balance that contributes to the elegant and fresh style of Taittinger champagnes.
Deeply committed to respecting its terroir, the House practises sustainable viticulture, adopting methods that promote biodiversity and preserve soil quality. This careful approach to vineyard management helps ensure the quality of the grapes and preserve the expertise that has made the Taittinger Champagne House renowned worldwide.
