History of the Domaine Manuel Olivier

Born into a farming family, Manuel Olivier followed an unusual path. In 1990, he began with just a few hectares of vines while also growing small fruits.

For four generations, the Olivier family has worked the soils of Burgundy, a region ideally suited to vine growing. Deeply respectful of nature’s rhythms, the domaine has practised sustainable farming for many years.

Today, Manuel Olivier works more than 12 hectares of vines in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, around Corboin and Nuits-Saint-Georges, as well as in the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The estate produces both red and white wines across a wide range of appellations, from village wines to Premier Cru and Grand Cru, including Morey-Saint-Denis, Aloxe-Corton, Chambolle-Musigny, Pommard, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Meursault, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée and Clos de Vougeot.

Travellers' review - Manuel Olivier Estate

  • A wonderful stay

A superb tasting at Manuel Olivier, accompanied by insightful commentary. A night of attentive service at La Maison Rouge. An excellent meal at 21 Boulevard de Beaune.

  • Manuel Olivier's Wine Tasting

Wine tasting at Manuel Olivier—top-notch, everything was great. Then on to La Marelle guesthouse, a heavenly spot where you can have dinner. Breakfast served with homemade jam.

  • Super Weekend from May 22 to 25

We stayed with Karine for three nights at La Maison Rouge in Ladoix-Serrigny. Karine is very welcoming and friendly, full of attention and caring for everyone. The wine tasting, which was exceptional, took place at Manuel OLIVIER's in a convivial atmosphere of exchange and sharing, and the visit was very interesting. The two restaurants proposed by Vinotrip were perfect, and the one proposed by Karine was also excellent. We took the opportunity to visit Beaune, with its many trees and flowers, and Dijon, which has an exceptional architectural heritage that is well showcased... following the owl trail. We also did the route des grands crus, which is a real beauty. Thanks again to Vinotrip for the organization and quality of their services.

  • Burgundian weekend

A very rewarding and enjoyable weekend. A most charming chambre d'hôte with a host who took great care and was extremely kind. A very interesting oenology course and an oenologist who knows her job well and distills it with passion. However, we had to run after her presentation (or even leave before the end) to continue our discovery of Burgundy and its fine wines. Perhaps we should review the timetable so that we can take full advantage of every moment. A very high quality meal at Maison Trapet, with top-notch and extremely friendly staff. Visit to Manuel Olivier with Laurent as sommelier, also top-notch and very friendly. Dinner at the Ermitage restaurant. Not very pleasant at first, with a feeling of being relegated to the background because we were the "Vinotrip", but the atmosphere relaxed and the end of the meal was rather pleasant. Visit to the Trufferie. It was great to see Taïga working with Nicolas (his master). A presentation of the work and the truffle with a lot of humor and sympathy. A very good meal, but a little less quality for our taste than when we visited in 2022. All in all, a very good weekend, worth repeating.

  • Great weekend!

We had a very pleasant 2-day weekend, and the welcome at Domaine Manuel Olivier was exceptional, with an outstanding tasting. A wonderful discovery that we highly recommend. During our stay, we stayed at La Marelle in CORBERON, a well-kept bed and breakfast with a wonderful welcome from the owners (smile, warmth, friendliness, precious advice, passion). Our "Manufacture" room was clean and well decorated, and the dinner was perfect. Breakfast was also perfect, with a wide choice and excellent homemade jams. For meals, dinner and breakfast, everything was home-cooked, with the emphasis on local produce, which is more than appreciable. All in all, our weekend was more than positive, and we highly recommend this stay in Burgundy.

  • Wonderful weekend

We spent a very pleasant 2-day weekend in Burgundy, the welcome at Domaine Manuel Olivier was great, Laurent our very professional guide showed us around the domaine with a touch of humor that was much appreciated, the wine tasting was perfect with all the explanations on the wines. Then we stayed at La Mardlle in CORBERON, a magnificent, well-kept bed and breakfast with a wonderful welcome from the owners. Our Montagne room was clean and well-decorated, and the dinner was very good and copious. Breakfast was also perfect, with a wide choice and excellent homemade jams. Our weekend was therefore more than positive, and we would recommend this stay in Burgundy.

  • Discovery Trip to Burgundy

We really enjoyed our stay in Burgundy. First and foremost, the accommodations at La Maison Rouge, with Karine’s very warm welcome—not to mention Volnay. The tour of the vineyards in Couchey, with detailed insights from a passionate oenologist. The meal at Maison Trapet in Gevrey-Chambertin was very enjoyable. Our visit to the Maison de la Truffe with Nicolas and his truffle-hunting dog, followed by an excellent truffle-themed meal. The wine tasting of various wines at Manuel Olivier’s. Everything was perfect and very well organized, with a warm welcome every time.

The red house is perfect. Karine the best for welcome and breakfast. Tastings at Manuel Olivier very good and very sympathetic oenologist.Clos de Bourgogne: Sandrine very educational and passionate. We learn a lot.Maison Trappet and Truffles morning with sensational meal. The only downside: the 21 Bd restaurant or the limited choice of menu and the noise in the cellar. As for the optional Ermitage de Corton restaurant, it was truly gastronomic...:In conclusion, a dream stay with perfect organization.

  • Manuel Olivier / Maison Cabotte

There were only 2 of us, and we toured the winery and cellar with Laurent, an employee of the Manuel Olivier estate. He gave us lots of details, listened carefully to what we had to say, and made it all worthwhile! Then we went on to the tasting, where he also guided us. It was a great time, and many thanks to him! Then we went to the restaurant "La Beaune Heure", which was very good but not very lively, but it was still a nice evening. Finally, we stayed at La Maison Cabotte where we were very well received, the room was clean and the bedding very comfortable. All in all, we had a great weekend! :)

  • Weekend in Burgundy

Perfect stay with accommodation at the maison rouge (great welcome and very pleasant cocooning room). We were very well received at Manuel Olivier's place, at the Clos de Bourgogne and for the Truffles activity. The meals were very good and we were warmly welcomed every time. Bravo for the choice of activities and people! Burgundy is a beautiful place, but it's the people we met that really stood out. A special mention to Maison Trappet, where we felt like privileged guests!

  • Burgundy Stay

A superbly organized gift from our daughters. The discovery and tasting at Domaine Manuel Olivier was fabulous, the welcome perfect, there were only two of us, and we had the great impression of having the domaine all to ourselves. The explanations given were crystal clear, as were all the wonderful wines we tasted. The restaurant "La Beaune heure" in the evening was very good. The night at Karine's Maison Rouge was great.

  • Manuel Olivier estate tasting

Thanks to Vinotrip for the perfect organization of our Burgundy getaway. The tasting at Domaine de Manuel Olivier was great. Anouk's personality, knowledge and warm welcome really contributed to our success. She's a sunny person who makes us want to come back! (and we'll be back for a grape harvest weekend, thanks to her contagious good humor). Thanks again, it was great and the wines were top quality. You can feel the passion and that's what we like to find in this kind of tasting too.

A big thank you to our wine consultant at the Manuel Olivier winery for her superb service and to Aline and her husband at La marelle for the warm atmosphere, the reception, the room and the finesse of their food and wine. To be repeated!

  • Stay in Burgundy

We had a magical time. Super tasting at the Manuel Olivier estate, excellent wines, lots of explanations. The guest room at La Maison Rouge is brilliant: a magnificent building full of charm, with a very pleasant theme combining authenticity and modernity. The host is charming and the breakfast excellent. We also dined very well at the Beaune Heure restaurant, with an excellent meal from starter to dessert. A little bonus: Beaune is a magnificent town!

  • EXCELLENT STAY IN BURGUNDY

Very nice tasting experience at Manuel Olivier. The gite "La Marelle" is perfect, with a warm welcome and a place to relax. The owners are charming people who like to share information about their region and good addresses. Thank you Vinotrip for organizing this stay in Burgundy.

  • Excellent stay

Excellent stay in Burgundy with a very fine tasting at Manuel Olivier. The chambre d'hôte, la maison rouge, was also perfect, with a hostess who was an enthusiastic wine connoisseur and shared her knowledge of the field. The restaurant à la Beaune heure was also excellent, with a special mention for the dessert.

    Valerie B.

  • Excellent stay in Burgundy

Excellent stay in Burgundy, with a visit to the Manuel Olivier estate hosted by William, who gave us a very good explanation of the different processes involved in making and preserving wine. Superb tasting after the visit. The room at the Maison Rouge was lovely, as was the breakfast. The restaurant La Beaune heure was great, and we were pleasantly surprised by the Burgundian shepherd's pie. Thanks to Vinotrip for the organization and all the partners :)

    Raphaël L.

  • Perfect!

Manuel Olivier's visit to the vineyard was top-notch, with lots of explanations and wine tasting, thank you. As for the guest room, La Marelle, I recommend it, you sleep and eat super well. The hosts are very attentive and very, very nice. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

  • Burgundy vacations

Very nice visit and tasting at the Manuel Olivier estate, explanations well adapted to the laymen that we are. We discovered the Maison Rouge and its owner: a great welcome and a hearty breakfast. Everything was pleasant, and we enjoyed chatting with our host. Les Terrasses de Corton (the restaurant) was not to be outdone: a superb Burgundian meal, and here too, the welcome and conversation were top-notch.

    Catherine B.

  • Superb weekend

Superb weekend of relaxation in a magnificent region, surrounded by passionate people. "La maison rouge": a very welcoming, well-kept bed and breakfast of the highest standard, very convivial. The restaurants "La Gremelle" and "Chez Christian Quenel", each with their own specificity, but with a quality of service that is much appreciated (a plus for Chez Quenel). At Clos Bourgogne, an oenological workshop in the vineyards, followed by a small tasting session, all very well organized and educational. Meal at Maison Trapet: what can I say, you let yourself be carried away by the food and wines. No questions asked, just enjoy. Tasting at Manuel Olivier's, a small downside: in our opinion, too many wines were "tasted" in too short a time, with too few explanations. Nevertheless, a very warm and friendly welcome. Last but not least, the truffle farm was great, not because it's all about truffles and truffle fame, but simply because we were welcomed by passionate people who passed on their passion through their explanations and cooking. All well orchestrated.

    Didier B.

  • Domaine Manuel Olivier wines

Manuel Olivier produces accessible, enjoyable wines while preserving the individual character of each appellation. The vineyard is farmed with care and high standards, with the aim of producing healthy, high-quality grapes that fully express their terroir.

  • Visits and tastings

Manuel Olivier and his family welcome visitors for a friendly and passionate introduction to the wines of Burgundy. This tasting experience is a moment of sharing and discovery, designed to leave a lasting impression.
The visit lasts around 1 hour 30 minutes and includes an olfactory introduction followed by a tasting of several Burgundy wines, from regional appellations such as Bourgogne Aligoté and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits to village wines, Premier Cru and Grand Cru. It is also an opportunity to better understand Burgundy’s terroirs and what makes them so unique.
