In 1984, Olivier Leflaive liberated the family estate with the help of his brother Patrick and his uncle Vincent thereby creating "La Maison Olivier Leflaive". To establish the wine estate, various acquisitions would follow, a total of 12 hectares of prestigious appellations are purchased. In order to develop fine wines, Olivier Leflaive maintains control of the winemaking and the ageing process. The estates white wines are bought as grapes either in juice form or under the wine press. Each vintage benefits from an individual approach keeping in mind the quintessance of the "Domaine". The formost objective being that the authenticity of each appellation is guaranteed with respect to the land. Like the renowned Puligny-Montrachet, all wines carry the brand and personality of Burgundy appellations. In the heart of Puligny-Montrachet discover the hotel Olivier Leflaive , this authentic seventeenth century building has eleven charming rooms and two suites with terraces. The house has been decorated in the manner of a Guesthouse by Carole Leflaive, and each room has its own special ambience.
But above all it is the space and light that define the rooms, little nooks of confort : flat panel TV, Internet, air conditioning and interior shutters, ... The inner garden of the house invites you for tasting. In the restaurant dishes are simple, but they are always accompanied by great wines.
To develop great wines, Olivier Leflaive retains the mastery of winemaking and breeding. The white wines of the House are bought in grapes or juice "under the press". Each vineyard benefits, in the spirit "Domaine" of an individualized approach, the primary objective being to ensure the authenticity of each appellation, respect for the terroir. Like the well-known Puligny-Montrachet, all the cuvées bear the mark and personality of the Burgundy appellations.
Very involved in wine tourism, the Maison Olivier Leflaive offers workshops to discover the wine and vineyards of the Côte de Beaune, wine tastings commented on (such as: Puligny-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet , Meursault, Saint-Romain, Corton-Charlemagne ...) and lunch around typical Burgundy dishes: an ideal stage of your stay in Burgundy to better understand the wine and its mysteries!
