The Château de la Velle, a historic monument, is located in Meursault. This property has belonged to the Darviot family for 9 generations.
Precursors of the stuggle for rational agriculture since 1980, all chemical fertilizers have been banished. These methods require great vigilance and rigourous care of the vines. In order to prevent erosion and maintain a living soil, the domain carrys out tilling, plowing, natural sodding or thermal weeding.
Entirely manual grape harvest, the wines are aged in oak barrels used with parsimony, in this manner the wine can fully express the character of the « terroir ».
