History of Château Meyre
Located in Avensan, in the heart of the Médoc, Château Meyre is a historic estate whose origins date back to the 17th century. Over the years, the property has brought together wine heritage, art de vivre and gastronomy.
Once owned by Colette Lenôtre, wife of the famous French caterer Gaston Lenôtre, the château was acquired in 1998 by the Hetrakul family from Thailand. Since then, the family has worked to develop the vineyard’s potential and showcase the wines of the estate.
Set in peaceful countryside, Château Meyre also welcomes guests for a stay in an elegant and characterful property. With its comfortable rooms, outdoor swimming pool and vineyard surroundings, it is an ideal place to enjoy a relaxing escape in the Médoc.

Wines of the Estate
The estate spans 18 hectares in the Haut-Médoc appellation, recognized as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, and an additional 2 hectares in the Margaux terroir.
Pioneering environmental concerns, the Hetrakul family passionately embraces organic farming practices in the vineyard, earning recognition for their initiative in 2011. The wines are crafted from complex blends of typical Médoc grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.

Wine experiences at the Château
The château opens its doors to unveil its technical facilities through a guided tour. The various stages of winemaking are explained, followed by a commented tasting of 2 organic wines.
For the gastronomically inclined, a wine and cheese tasting promises to delight your taste buds. Bicycles are also available for the more adventurous!
