About Château La Tour de Bessan
A Cru Bourgeois estate in the Margaux appellation, Château La Tour de Bessan is owned by Marie-Laure Lurton. An oenologist by training, she took over from her father, Lucien Lurton, in 1992.
The estate’s production buildings have an unusual history. Originally designed in 1934 as a telecommunications building, they were converted in 1999 into a space dedicated to winemaking, ageing and welcoming visitors.
Château La Tour de Bessan is firmly rooted in modernity while continuing to respect traditional techniques.

The wines
The vineyard covers 32 hectares and is planted with the three main Médoc grape varieties: 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 32% Merlot. Its deep quaternary gravel soils are typical of the Margaux appellation. The estate follows a sustainable approach to vineyard management. It received its first 'Terra Vitis' certification in 2003, which has been renewed ever since.
The wines of Château La Tour de Bessan are known for the subtlety of their red fruit and floral aromas, with notes of peony and violet, as well as for the finesse and elegance of their tannins. -
